Error : SQL Server 2016 Fix Install-Rule "Oracle JRE 7 Update 51 (64-bit) or higher is required" failed.
Error Description: It is the first time when I am installing the SQL Server 2016 on my local PC when installing on at stage or wizard step "Selecting Features" installing I found an error saying that "Rule 'Oracle JRE 7 Update 51 (64-bit) or higher is required for Polybase" is failed.
Fix : To resolve this error I done so many experiments like doing R&D on google, installing dependent SQL server updates or tools etc. Finally I came to understand when "Selecting Features" just exclude the "PolyBase Query Service for External Data" to ignore this error & to install the SQL Server 2016 successfully.
After installing SQL Server 2016 successfully if you are not able to see the SQL Server 2016 SSMS tool on you machine then please install the dependent update package or tool from the microsoft website url https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/mt238290.aspx.
Note : If you require this feature then only select the "PolyBase Query Service for External Data" and for this you need to install the "Oracel Java SE Runtime Environement Version 7 Update 51 (64-bit)" from the oracle website url http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/java-archive-downloads-javase7-521261.html#jre-7u51-oth-JPR and also you have to accept the license agreement.
